This sorry shitheap however didn't even get past 100'000 and 10 years before expiring.

They really do seem to go forever of treated well.
I expect the dodgy handbrake is more likely to be knackered cables, which can be a bit of a sod to change but not the end of the world.
I wonder how many window runner clips it's had though

One is quite enough!
I saw V plate and £225, and needed to take a look. Knackered E36 handbrake can also be the actual lever that's worn out. The rivet that the lever pivots of wears an oval hole and the ratchet can't grip.
That 2002 Valvetronic thing says it all. Modern technology is shite long term

Tony eko did have a 318i touring with with the N42 which had done 272000 miles though!

That little compact looks like it has plenty of life left in it yet
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

One of my mer 190's has just clocked 363k.... Plenty of life in her as well. I did hear of a guy who used to drive his e30 to Turkey twice a year, it had something daft like 600k on the clock......it's still going

I don't know about that we had a 2010 e class in recently with 400k on it everything original apart from tyres and could easily have been 50k on itaimlessrock wrote:One of my mer 190's has just clocked 363k.... Saw a 1984 Audi 100 taxi, on the Isle of Wight today, still going strong, what a lovely car.aimlessrock wrote:One of my mer 190's has just clocked 363k.... Plenty of life in her as well. It was white, didn't see what engine it had, IOW reg. as well, probably never been off the island. No rust at all. Seen a spotless Diamond Black cab. driving 'round a few times, an old girl driving it. Quite alot of timewarp cars there.

It will be around much longer too, fully galvanised body with a 10 year corrosion guarantee back then, takes the piece out of rotting E46's!TPS wrote:It was white, didn't see what engine it had, IOW reg. as well, probably never been off the island. Love those old Audi 100s, the Avants were huge. Go to the IOW alot, see E30s & allsorts over there, which look like new. I took Adit yesterday, he loved it as well.

Almost. The A6 has a rust problem as well on the front wings. They start to bubble at the top of the arch and the rust works it's way around. I've seen 02/03 cars with rust and the Ebay one has had gaffa tape put over the holes. Can't believe anyone is paying more than 300 quid for that shitter. It's rubbish.DanThe wrote:It will be around much longer too, fully galvanised body with a 10 year corrosion guarantee back then, takes the piece out of rotting E46's!TPS wrote:It was white, didn't see what engine it had, IOW reg. as well, probably never been off the island. I remember those Audi 100s, they marketed them as having a low cd figure IIRC, & the Procon 10 safety system, good rival to the E28, the 200 was the Turbo'd one? Always thought the A6 wouldn't rust, as they were aluminium?

I was on about the 80's 100's Andy, the recent VAG turds are crap in comparison!Andyboy wrote:Almost. The A6 has a rust problem as well on the front wings.
