So the 23mm one is from the squarish Audi coupe like the UR Quattro Turbo shape and the 25mm one is from the rounder coupe like the S2/RS2 shape ?

140 quid new from ECP !!!!!

None on ebay either :(

perserveer (sp?) andy,i got mine from ebay and it was new ,i think it was Ԛ£30 !!!!

The m/c is off the later coupes ,not the square ones.If you ask Ian Haynes ,i think he knows exactly which models are fitted with what.Again though when i tried to find one some of the cars listed didn't have a 25mm one installed.

The 25 mm one has the 25ZV on it.
I did try and put up the lists but when i host them they come out tiny.

The shorter later one will be very handy mate if you would be kind enough to get it for me the next time you are down there ? :thumb:

Well chuffed with that TB, i ended up opening a paypal account so i could pay for it straight away so i can get it quicker.

What have you decided to do with your TB, are you welding it on or bolting ?

I had a look on ebay for a spare manifold to use whilst i mount the TB to my port matched manifold but some rob dog wanted 50 quid !!!

I will have to pop over to yours some time over crimbo to check out the proggress on the turbo beasty. 8)

That fan looks good, 13 inch should flow enough air and it doesn't pull many amps either.

I think i could do with a bigger fan(not that it has ever over heated but for a greater safty margin) and i need to try and refit the cowling inbetween the grill and radiator to make full use of the air rather than it just going around the sides of the radiator.

No probs with the box mate, not sure which day i'll pop over yet but i'll drop you an email wed/thur.

Hi, I am doing the golf servo conversion and I couldnt see why the rod needs to be made longer eveything is the same length as the BMW one but because other people have made a longer rod I am a bit worryed it wont work and I cant try it as I have no engine in at the moment

I have also done this mod!
More on the subject on my M50 Convertible thread!

I used the small Golf Mk2 1.3 servo and the rod inside the servo is about an inch to short. The one on the right in the photo below!

Image

The servo bolts straight into the E30, all bolts and stud pattens the same! winkeye

I was going to make up some spacer rods using theses!

Image

But then I read that Buster did the Audi master Cylinder mod and I went straight on ebay and found this!

Image

Paid, £7 for it!

So next week, thats going in with a full write up on my M50 Convertible Thread!

Hi, The Mk2 golf cant be the same as the MK1 golf as the rod on the MK1 golf is the same length as the BMW one so I should be ok.
Steve the rod in side the car the pin hole in the golf servo is to small so I unscrewed the one off the BMW servo and put it on the golf servo to save drilling out the hole, dont know if that info is any good to you.

The Mk1 GTi servo (as I used) doesnt need any mods to fit - the push rod is the correct length for the BMW master cylinder.
I couldnt unscrew the 'fork' (with the pin hole) from the golf servo but if I used the E30 fork it would of been too short anyway, so I drilled out the hole on the golf one...

Image

The Mk2 1.3 servo is the same size as the Mk1 GTi servo but needs the spacer rod as Steve said or the Audi M/C.

There is a smaller diameter Mk1 servo from the non-Gti's and although this would give more space in the E30 engine bay, it wouldnt give enough assist in the E30 - how crap are the Mk1 golf brakes!!

You have the Mk2 1.3 servo, so thats right.

The Mk1 Gti servo doesnt need the spacer for the M/C and bolts up exactly like the Mk2 servo - its a direct fit. Only the pin/hole on the linkage is too small and there would be a little play in the linkage, which aint good for brakes. 2 mins with the drill and the E30 pin can be used and all is good.

steve.
That audi master cylinder you have is the 23 mm one isnt it ?
The one i have is 25 mm ,i wanted it bigger as im putting bigger disks and calipers on.
If yours is the 23 mm one then it will be the same as the normal e30 one which will be ok as long as your keeping the standard brakes or even 325i brakes.

mine didn't need any faffing to get the M30 in... the manifold is untouched, the E30 servo is in and there's a 5mm gap. this never knocks.

maybe it's down to tolerances on the engine mounts... i'm using E30.de mounts, drilled for P2.5 and with new bmw E30 M20 rubbers.

I recieved mine Audi M/C today!

Image

But it has four brake pipe inserts?? Anybody have views on this?

I think its no good for the conversion, I might be able to take it apart and mate it with the BMW one! winkeye

Very upset now, because that was one part I was waiting on to get the job finished in the engine bay.

If you mean what I think you mean, then just blank one of the rears off. An appropriate size bleed nipple shoild do. There's only two chambers in the cylinder, so they're just two drillings into each.
Can't make out your pic again (too dark). You really must get a better camera, Steve!
