Never heard of one until tonight

The former European Touring Car Champion and BMW dealers Helmut Kellener from Dinslaken was probably the first, the one endowed with the big E30 BMW six-cylinder. This became known in 1983 as K3 three had built the unchanged and 218 hp engine from the 635 CSi. Thus the K3 accelerated in 6.5 seconds from 0-100 km / h in just 16 seconds of 0-160 km / h in 29 s and h to 200 km / The top speed is 238 km / h This powerpack was Kelleners Sport long time the absolute trendsetter among three tuners, until the others followed suit, with the same concept. The K3 impressed even today, when it comes to flexibility and acceleration from low engine speeds. Top figures are achieved which are not surpassed by many nominally much stronger tuned threes. The whopping torque of 315 Nm is just barely not wegzureden. Regarding the peak performance of K3S has got one. The modified engine generates 252 hp. The acceleration values ”‹”‹are in slightly better: 0-100 km / h in 6 s, 0-160 km / h in 14.5 sec and 0-200 km / h in 26s.
Kelleners Sport body kit is also very well done as you can see. It consists of a front spoiler, rear spoiler and striking side and is topped by a flat lying on the trunk lid rear wing. The speedometer goes up to the K3 260 km / h In the speedometer and tachometer is a nice K3 lettering.
On the colored photos Holgi's former K3 is shown equipped with Beta Luci Send OZ 7x15 inch rims. For it is missing the original rear spoiler and exterior lettering.
The K3 had forward an approximately 1m long 10x10cm pot and a very large and heavy muffler, probably from the 5 or 6 people. He had no cat and no pockets. The brake was an original ABS brakes from 320i/323i (front: innenbel disc, rear: disc solid). The motor mounts are. ST37 and not cast aluminum like Alpina
The differential was at least in a locked Holgi 2.73 but with external expander for oil (this black metal thing like the 6er). The transmission in this vehicle is a 5 speed sport. The aluminum oil pan is not from Alpina but not vice welded! Special feature Holgis K3: forged pistons with ball combustion chambers and larger valves, which can be close to a K3S engine (registered but only 218 hp). The valves are each 1-2 mm larger than M30 series. A special chip by Kelleners was in there too. Furthermore Holgis K3 had an aluminum auxiliary tank. The stabilizers were adjustable. The vehicle identification number was not reassigned (like Alpina), the letter of the new capacity was only etc and remarks: Fz rebuilt by Messrs. Boehm and Kelleners.

they tuned the e46 m3 to over 400bhp by taking capacity to 3.4 and fitting other tasty bits.
They did go under and have recently reappeared in the last couple of years

Kelleners won one of the ETCC championships in an E28 528i with 240bhp. I was privileged to sit in such a beast and drive it around a monastery car park.

Not as lucky as the owner! This was the only remaining example in original as raced condition, undamaged with all the right bits such as centrelock BBS wheels etc. Some were converted to road cars and 4-5 were used for stock car racing because they quickly became ineligible for racing and thus pretty useless

Some things in life I still find difficult to comprehend. Like women and destroying amazing cars.

It was largely non contact but they still got mullahed. A mate in Germany found one a few years back. It had been painted Diamond black but it was utterly rotten because they were built from non undersealed shells with just a lick of paint underneath and virtually no seam sealer.
