Anyone know what facelift 325i run a 3 piece exhaust from factory?

The issue I have is I need a downpipe to fit a 3 piece system, most 3 piece were a pre facelift thing, but the pre facelift log manifold has a different flange to the post facelift. I am 99% sure some facelift cars come with the larger flanged manifold and a 3 piece system, and this is the piece I need. Its for my touring, they all came with 2 piece systems :D

Confused yet?

If any one knows what cars, years etc, so I can price it up. Or has one in good condition let me know.

Merry Christmas

What system does yours have? Both my touring ('89) and cab ('88 ) have the following:

This is from the cab.

They both have the diamond mani-downpipe connection (don't think I have a photo of it). Not sure if that is a 2 or three piece system to be honest, there is certainly the one join before the midbox. I'm fairly sure there is one after the midbox too but I could be wrong.

E: Someone else's pic but the same connection: http://imgc.classistatic.com/cps/kjc/11 ... a0_20.jpeg

I have the downpipe and mani spare from the touring as I'm not using it (will bin the whole system in a couple months).

That is a 3 piece system, the flanges are the same shape the pre face is just slightly smaller. Another thing I remembered, there is also a step, a different size pipe, after the first bend on the down pipe of a pre facelift system.

Looks like the one you have has no step, which is the one I need. From the factory your touring would have had a 2 piece system, which is what I have taken off mine, providing I get the missing piece of the puzzle I be putting a 3 piece back on.

Maybe the 3 piece post facelift is more common than I remember.

Thanks I'll let you know if I need it.

Can always do what I did and chop the first 8" or so off a 2 piece pipe and weld them to the 3 piece pipe where they step down, did mine over 5 years ago now and they have been fine ever since.

Hottuning manifold mates perfectly with the centre section of a three piece system... winkeye

^^ that's true and we do know that the hottuning manifold will at worst do no harm.
