For a standard set of staggered 16" Alpina's what is the correct size tyre for them.
Im guessing 225 on the rear and 205 on the fronts due to the 8 & 9j but what profile should they be?
TIA

i avoided the staggered set because in the correct rear size there were stuff all tyres to choose from in 225/45/16
not sure what it is like in the UK though

The best tyre available in these size are the continental sport contact 2 although the rear size can be tricky to get hold of.

Shame they don't do the Michelin in 225/45/16 as they are the superior tyre. Just.

B10 is on pilot sports. The wifes golf is also on pilot sports, this had contis on before.
tourings on contis 3's my opinion not valid?! I drive all 3 cars alot
Its a fact pilot sports are the best overall! They are the dogs

The super mint Biturbo spare with its new unused pilot is a true thing of beauty. If the car was not going to you Simon, it would have had a desireable metric retrofitted in the wellSimon13 wrote:B10 is on pilot sports. The wifes golf is also on pilot sports, this had contis on before.

So the only one of the 3 cars, the Golf, you have tried both the conti and michelins?Simon13 wrote:B10 is on pilot sports. The wifes golf is also on pilot sports, this had contis on before.

The difference between the conti and the mich in the dry is very little and in the wet there is nothing in it.
You're making out like there is some vast difference like between a Toyo and a Conti.
