Just got a m3 cluster knowing that the odometer doesn't work, was hoping it would be broken gears which would make an easy fix. Just finished up tearing it apart and the gears look good, almost as if they had already been replaced. This green plug was missing though, anyone have any idea what it does? I dont remember anything plugging into it, but I could be wrong.

I've borrowed that one from another spare cluster I have, which is a KPH Motometer cluster, the cluster I am working on is a KPH VDO M3 cluster, cant find a different part number for them so hopefully they are the same.

Nevermind, found out its part of the cruise control system. I can turn the gears by hand and the odometer turns over, so must be something electrical?

As you say, thats for cruise (primarily). Yes I couldn't see any problem with the gears in the clocks (and no I didn't replace anything in there), so assume it is electrical. There is nothing to see wrong which is the problem, no shorted connections or dry joints.
