I waved mine away as it was taken to the Autohaus to have a full service and diagnosis on the misfire and hard hot restart problems. I checked the wiki, I searched the threads and once I'd failed to rule out Blue Temp Sensor, ICV, TPS, Air leak, C101, leaky injector, failed non-return valve on the fuel pump I gave up and called an expert

Let's see how it does!

At the weekend I rebushed the rear of mine, yesterday I tried (and failed) to get the diff back on due to the prop shaft having extended. Tonight I plan on sorting the prop and the diff, then if time allows, get started on fitting the new brake components to the rear.

Mine's off to a mechanic for the rear wheel bearings tomorrow, and I hope my new washer jets turn up this week as it's got a 1000km round trip to do at the weekend, in minus 26 degrees

My most recent fix was replacing the broken reverse light switch on gear box housing. It was like that when I bought it in the summer. I love the small fixes like this. Such a treat to reverse in the dark now..

Remove all the glass instead of masking for nice job.
E30 glass, especially on a 2dr is easy to remove.

Alright thanks Barry, will look a lot tidier, it has pop outs too so they come out very easily. Very excited to see the finished product

Absolutly fook all done with mine since the 1st of September. Building up what seems like a stock pile of new shiny bits to replace on the cab but no time or the inclination to work on it when its cold.

^^^^This, although most of my lack of inclination is due to getting a new car this weekend and therefore having something else to give my attention.

I put my IX back together at the weekend after removing the carpet due to a leak into each footwell. Leaks now sorted and car back together, carpet currently drip drying in the garage and car will run over the winter with no carpet to ensure leaks are fixed before carpet goes back in.
Next up is bring back an IX transfer case from Houston and fit it, which will be a challenge !

I got this up next. Saving it for the new year along with the tappets. Then it's a bush overhaul and replacing a leaky steering rack with an E46 clubsport one.

Spent most of my time researching what bits I'll need to replace the M40 with a M42.
To say I'm excited about the prospect of twice as many valves and cams would be an understatement. Revised my xmas list to include an engine stand

Really? I've never seen much point in a stand myself, unless you're stripping the block down and rebuilding it. Engine crane + pallet to store the engine(s) is all I've ever needed.

I do plan to get it stripped and look over it all before I chuck it in so I thought the engine stand would be ideal as I've got a very small workshop to work in and I'd be tripping over the lump if I left it on a pallet!

Fair play then. They are handy, I've just never bothered to use one. It's sat at the side of the garage looking unloved, unlike the engine crane which is stood in the way and looking abused.

Surprisingly, it's warmer near where you're going. But I'm heading to the very north of Poland, where they've had two feet of snow already
