lol. she's had a good go at me over the years - i've been borderline insane sometimes (i hear someone muttering "all the time" in the background somewhere) and shes had me in tears, shes stressed me out so much when i thought all was lost and pointless.

Respect to you, which seems to be the consensus. It seems funny though that all these people who congratulate you and say it will be worth it are the very ones who jack at paying decent money ieԚ£4000 + for a decent car thats already had the money spent on it.

These are pics of my Mtech 1, 325i Sport with 190,000 miles on it.... doesnt show at all does it?
By the time she comes back from the bodyshop, i'll have shelled over 6 grand on her, just to get her back to standard spec! and i havnt even started on the engine or running gear yet!!! EEK!
Will add more pics when i get her back from the spray shop.
Remember to vote in the poll too.
I will always rated the tech 1 over the tech 2's,Due to aggrestion factors .. I too am in the process of restoring my tech1, and its burt a hole in my pocket the size of the Mersey tunnel. But I know being a visionary it will look spot on when its finished.
I dont know who else saw the Diamond black Tech1 at the top of the E30 zone line up at Santa Pod. It was a 36,000 mile example.
I spoke with the elderly gent that owns it and he was asking Ԛ£6000 pound for it as is was moving abroad, which in my eyes I felt it was worth every penny and more.
He had owned in 17 years and it was a doctors car before that.
I think I have a picture of it. I will post it if I can find it.
I just hope mine will look that good when its done.

that car had had paint on the arse end mate - just bare that in mind if you know anyone who was looking at buying it. both skirts had been repainted, rear skirt, bumper, rear slam panel, and both front wings. was a good job, but not perfect.
Yeah I did notice that it had paint work. But it was still a good looker.SCOTT325SE wrote:that car had had paint on the arse end mate - just bare that in mind if you know anyone who was looking at buying it. both skirts had been repainted, rear skirt, bumper, rear slam panel, and both front wings. was a good job, but not perfect.
and well pritty original apart from paint.
Had the original steel spare wheel with Perelli P6 tyre.
The owner did mention that the paint issues as well and the bloke I was with was a painter as well.
I really can't wait to finish mine off and get it back on the road.

just seen this thread, deffinately a big thumbs up from me! its easy to critisise someone for spending more than it would cost to buy a clean example of their particular model (big tech 2 fan but i dont exactly disslike tech 1s) but you try finding a car in the condition yours is in!
i started with an accident damaged tech 2 but it only had 87k (only
) and most importantly was unmolested. when im done i may have between 2 - 3k in it (bearing in mind i run a bodyshop) which will buy a cleanish tech 2 but you will not find one like mine in that price bracket.
yours may have a high recorded milage and mine is recorded as a write off but who cares? not me and i suspect not you because we will know our cars have nothing to hide from us.
hope to catch up with you and your car sometime (might get mine done for next year
) as its on the list of zone cars id like to see

the wiring is in along with engine panels and interior but now im tangled in 1.5 tonnes of hydraulic pipes for the active rear steering, they all fell apart when we undid them so i thought he might just leave it off as they rarely work but hes got a bee in his bonnet about originality so hes having the pipes made upbillgatese30 wrote: have you got the 8 done yet? or are you still tangled up in 3.5 metric tonnes of wire
