My wheel refurbisher informs me that there is no "Nogaro" (or however its spelt) code and that any wheels with the claimed colour, use a paint code that is the closest match.
is this correct?
Does anyone know the correct information, please?
Thanks.

No, not yet, but have been talking to the local guy. They tend to powdercoat, rather than paint, and suggested it would be a case of colour matching to the nearest shade. Also said manufacturers do not give these colour codes out..?Rav335uk wrote:You having them done then

speak to a proper paintrer who deals with panels etc, powdercoat doesnt come in every code or code mixed like paint is, they just get it in boxes of a color, they prob have silver and would wack a bit of grey in or something and hope for the ebst, you dont want the wheels to come back wrong and be unhappy
but- if you do want them powder coated, ive just had my rear pre facelift metal bumper blasted and powder coated, then my painter is spraying it over the top, he says powder is very good to paint over, and it will have a durable under coat, also had it powder coated silver , so when its painted lachs over the top, any chips or scratches over time might not show
so you could do that same sort of thing with wheels and just nogaro the faces

When I had the OZs done in my sig there was never any issue in them getting Nogaro, but they're painted not powdercoated.
I had my motorsport wheels refurbished a while ago by BJV Engineering in Flaundon and they advised me to go for their standard Gunmetal Grey and diamond cut rim and I'm glad I listened to them. Looks really good and a good quality job. Although they did paint the plastic 'nut' part of the centre cap they said they would not do them again as I beleive it caused them some problems!!!

Maddogg, was that powder coated? The colour codes supplied here are paint codes, which cannot be produced by powder coating refurbishers. Getting the wheels powder coated using one of their available greys (gunmetal probably) will be £130 a corner.

£130 per corner for powder coating wtf ??Gert_8 wrote:Maddogg, was that powder coated? The colour codes supplied here are paint codes, which cannot be produced by powder coating refurbishers. yes mate, was advised by the painted to have it blasted and powdered then he paint over the top, would be the best thing to do, basicly the powder coat is the 1st primer coat now
