The Ultimate Cleaning/detailing kit....

If you guy were to make a complete kit of cleaning products which covers the car in all aspects from inside out including engine ....what would it be, and also have you got any odd stuff you use and swear by to clean certain parts of the car?(like how woman use egg to wash there hair type of thing lol)

I use the Autoglym bumper gell on anything plastic/rubber

the stuff is bloody brilliant

Also - you can't beat a good clay bar, buy the best you can afford.

Maybe a bucket of warm suds and a sponge if I can't be arsed to drive anywhere.


Apparently peanut butter is ideal for black plastics, like the rear number plate surround.

one of my most vital would be autogylm vinyl and rubber care, superb stuff for inside and out

also autogym glass polish, is fantastic stuff , didnt think it would be so good

autogym super resin polish is fantastic

autogym /any clay bar kit

simoniz caranuba wax (in the tin)

also, demon shine, is super , use it every time after ive cleaned car when its still wet to avoid any watermarks and gives a nice quick shine when its already waxed etc, handy stuff

To keep it simple you could kit yourself out with chemical guys products from start to finish, not that my kit is that simple.

Zaino (Z8 sealant spray/QD, this is the dogs bollocks and leather care pruducts)
G techniq (G4, again the dogs bollocks)
Cleakcote (red moose glaze and vanilla glaze)
Chemical Guys (EZ creme glaze)
Poorboys (black hole glaze and wheel sealant)
Collinite (467 wax )
3M (compunds & pads )
Optimum (shampoo )
Menzerna (compounds)
aerospace 303 (engine dressing)
Bilt Hamber ( snow foam and clay )
Wolfs Chemical ( rim sealant )
Belugum (aluminium polish )
Karcher (jet washer and vac)
snow foam lance
machine rotary polisher
then there are all the micro fibre towels & cloths etc, brushes for wheels, door shuts, wash mitts


its quite sad really looking at the list ( which has probably cost more than 1k)

You could quite easily spend a fortune here, so choose some select products wisely that will keep your car in good condition and make your life easier to maintain. You havent said what you already have available or what you would like to spend, so i will start with the basics:

A nice microfibre or lambswool wash mitt

A nice shampoo, i use Meguiars Shampoo Plus

A nice drying towel

A claybar kit to remove bonded contamination. A clayed car will be hugely easier to maintain

For hand polishing, you could do a lot worse than Autoglym Super Resin Polish. It contains chemical cleaners, some fillers to help temporarily reduce swirls and also offers a small amount of cut

Seal in your hard work after polishing with a good wax or sealant. You get what you pay for, but you dont necassarily need to spend a fortune. Even a tub of Collinite 476s will provide lengthy durability and make future cleaning very easy. 2 coats will not take long to apply, will last easily 6 months if not more and its not overpriced

Lots of glass cleaners available, i prefer the sprays to creams and recommend the 3M glass cleaner

Poorboys natural look dressing is great for almost everything inside the car. Dash, door cards, trim. It smells great, is easy to apply and a little goes a long way

Autoglym Bumper Care is great for external plastics

For tyre dressings i use Meguiars Endurance Gel

Not bad for a starter kit lol, my wax collection cost twice as much

See, I will not pay stupid money for a wax. I do also have some vics red which for me gives a really good wet finish but bugger all durability
The HD wax is durable and gives an nice finish
Collinite also gives a nice finish and very durable, not quite as wet as the others.

In the real world I and many others just can not see the difference between a 1000 quid wax and 100 wax

Saying your car is finished in Zymol Royal is just for bragging rights. Swissvax BoS is as good as any

I will not pay stupid money for wax either i just have a lot of wax's as i detail for a living.
in the real world the difference in look is minimal if anything at all, i was only joking matey.
this is me www.ultradetail.co.uk the shine comes from the prep not the wax.
zymol glasur is ok vics concours is the wax i use on my e30 as it is a awesome wax for
it's price, collinite is cheap and cheerful and even better with a base of carlack 68 nsc
if non of that makes sense, it's due to the port and lemonade kicking in lol

I used the collinite over a base of Black Hole and its worked really well. It's gone on to my dads car so I needed something durable

I'm a big fan of collinite wax's. makes me laugh that a wax as cheap as collinite holds the crown for durability over more pricey wax's.
another good combo is from wolfs chemicals, shine and seal topped with hard body very durable and looks awesome.
