No Malcolm, his were both sub 200km iirc. These appear to be very nice cars, whether they are / were 160k worth who knows. This dealer is well known for declaring cars sold when they have not been so I would not be suprised if the cars come up for sale individually in the near future.

Interesting times in the classic car market at the moment, I am not sure where it is all going but similar 'booms' have occurred before and ended badly, for the 'investors' if not the real enthusiasts that aspire to own a now rapidly appreciating classic.

I was thinking of selling up next year, is it best to hold out or bail whilst they're riding high ?

i think decently priced good cars will hold strong, but i can't see the silly prices the top end cars are commanding lasting too much longer.
cheers,

exactly, but how long for?

they way way beyond the reach on normal enthusiasts and i'm not convinced there are enough minted collectors to keep the prices sky high forever.

i'm certainly no expert, and probably completely wrong :D

still wish i'd bought one when they were £10k
cheers,

harry

Lots of minted and not so minted types tried that in the late 80s, it ended very badly and some cars have only recently surpassed the mad prices they were selling at back then.

...my mate (who knows nothing about cars and definitely didn't have the $) narrowly avoided having to buy one of these turds back in the day (he sold the option on at the last minute)

There was talk of an invester from Hong kong or something.

It is HK and the emerging markets that are pushing the price of sought after cars up.. well, that, and the rich getting richer!

"The Captain" will dispose of them as quickly as possible with whatever means necessary, for one reason only....

Which is, they are faster than an M30 anchor :D

PacerPete u could be cruising showing the bruvs, chavs how it is done and be in the City of London with red braces, Filofax and a brick mobile phone in a posh wine bar with the Sport Evo parked outside doing your thing .... Yuppie style :-)
