Need a new fuel pump for a 1990 325i

Cotswold have quoted £316 inc. vat and delivery; I know the part is being delivered from Germany, but that's over double the cost of a bosch pump on eBay:

What gives, and any justification for forking out double the cash?

Chances are that the BMW pump is an exact replacement, while the ebay one is one that can be adapted to fit. If the pic. is of the actual item, I suspect that the ebay pump is shorter than the original, and the hose and clips are supplied to fill the gap where the original connector piece will not be long enough.

Brian is it just an inline pump ,wouldnt you be better off paying £130 ish and getting a bosch 044 or something and adapting that to fit ,then when you decide to go turbo you will already have a good pump ?

This seems cheap as chips is this OEM quality? understanding it is a BOSCH make and BMW use for few bosch parts as standard.

Thanks for the info Brian.

Meatballs - good to know. 85% sure the fault is with the fuel pump, but gonna check connections etc. before forking out.
