yeah they seemed to have firmed up in price of late. But it is the season for bargains. seriously though i would pay a bit more for the right car these can be expensive to fix.

That silver saloon looks a better car than the black coupe despite the rust bubble.

That sounds like a great car! Nice spec with the only thing I would be wanting for are heated sports seats but has some decent morsels none the less.
A hexagon car as well! Looks like its lived in London most of its life to so shouldn't be a scabby pig underneath.

Yeah, it seems an overall nice spec. Like you say, sports seats would be a bonus, but heated comfort will do.
On the interior shot, does the gearstick look like it's sat at a funny angle? Don't these suffer with a problem with the selector?

Can't quite see it properly as I'm on my phone but yes they can suffer with sticking over to the driver side.

Its not terminal at all. You can still drive the car perfectly fine its just the gear stick doesnt centre its self.
It box out to fix it but peanuts for the parts.

Lee I saw a nice looking 4 door in Donny this week on the main drag down to the station. The same blue as my old touring.
I will have a look this week when I'm back over that way. Cant remember the traders name

a weighted gearknob is the bodge solution to those of us too unskilled/lazy/tight to fix the e46 gear centering problem it works pretty well on mine shame i changed the bushings before i came up with this fix.

that depends on how far darn sarf Si, i have a very grim E34 M5 from devon, it's been there all it's life but looks worse than a scottish turdSimon13 wrote:See the southern myth is the truth!!

having said that, i have bought a really nice 2 door 325i from Scotland that was completely grot free, my triple three spent most of it's life in London and that's hanging (or it was.. )
it's all down to how the owners look after them I'm thinking,

333i's dont count as they are SA buit and have shit corrosion protection.
Everybody knows that!
Yes, how owners look after them plays a big part but the north/south divide is no myth!
Rule number 1, never buy a northern turd or one thats lived by the sea.

E46s, whilst nice cars, are where the BMW penny pinching really began. My old coupe had minor blistering on the rear arch and front wing by the time it was 8 years old. I had both sprayed but an 8 year old, low mileage "prestige" car needing paintwork due to rust is a joke. The amount of E46s with rusty front wings is ridiculous. That and the sh!tty door rubbers, matt paint finish in the shutlines and wafer thin carpets. They have a better dash than an E36 but thats about it.

I may have found something after all my moaning.
330 touring, manual with very good service history and lots of bills. Just waiting on some more pics from the seller tomorrow.
Pain in the arse is that the car is right down in Portsmouth

I was pondering the 5 hour train ride to go and see this, but some pics from the seller revealed some grot down the bottom of the offside rear arch/sill area. So I'll be swerving it. All 4 alloys were chewed too. Shame.

Given that decent E46's are drying up fast, you may be better off with an E39. Plenty of tatty ones of those too but they don't seem to suffer wing and arch rot quite like the E46.
They're cheaper as well.
Have you considered an IS200? They're cracking cars. Lovely little six pot, no body rot and funky dash.
