Hi there as some of you may know I prevent ly purchased a e30 with a m52b28 in it. My question is why does it hit the limiter at 5700 revs as this seems to be pretty low. What way will I Beable to change this? Would I need to chip the ecu?

Cheers alan

Does the m52b28 have a "limp home" mode that could be causing that?

Most "limp home" modes limit to around 3000rpm.

Sounds like your ecu is not reciving a road speed signal, the effect is the exact symptoms you describe. Def worth checking, i forget the exact pin/ cable but im sure some on here could help.

Best bet is to get the fault codes read and see what comes up and take it from there.
