Easy fix is a new track control arm and a new 'lollypop' bush.

Parts price from GSF will be less than £75 for decent quality parts.

Would take me about an hour or so to fit.

A half-decent garage would have the correct special tool(about £100 on ebay) to swap just the balljoint, balljoint alone from GSF is under £20,but I have no idea regarding labour time.

The ball joints are the shiney bits with the nuts on the top..... :P

They will do the job just fine, but there is no need to swap both arms for just one failed ball joint,so buying a better quality Lemforder arm from GSF will cost less than the pair of 'cheap' ones.
However,if you were to fit a pair,I would suggest that you also fit a pair of M3 type rear bushes. These will probably be a 'dealer only' item, but are only about £30 for the pair.
Check prices with 'Meatballs82',our own zone contact at ECP,he understands E30 owners and what they like to buy!

Good information,Steve.

I have polybushes on my cars, but they are not to every-one's taste.

But the oppotunity for the OP to upgrade to eccentric bushes is available to him at this time for little added cost.
