I must admit, I've always had a liking for these. If they were RWD then I'd have bought one years ago :(

The fwd wouldn't annoy me... what does annoy me is the fact they have more ponies than a 325i

If I was to buy a second car it would be a Saab 900 aero / carlsson

or 190 cossie.

The Saab is just so quirky and the merc is just a thug.

Love them both. Luckily I'm a pennless loser & don't have to choose!

The old 900 Turbos are lovely - what Saab was really about before they lost their way. Sadly just one model can't support a whole company.

If I was to go for one it would have to be the Aero or Carlsson

I been checking online... very thin on the ground.

I'd say getting parts would be a nightmare

I had an 84 900 turbo. Build quality rivalled BMW and Merc. Paint finish was superb throughout.

Downsides? 4 pot front wheel drive. And chronic turbo lag (16v's were better but not much), Cracking manifolds and weak gearboxes.

I only managed 8 months with it before I moved it on for a proper drive layout / number of cylinders. A 3.0 straight six Senator.

I had an 89' 900 turbo in black with grey leatherzz many years ago, it did consume a lot of oil which made oil changes less frequent but still a very good car, drove solid I really liked it..

I broke down only once and that was down to me dropping some crap down the ignition on the centre console !! :?

The later 900 in 2 door/convertible from was a classy car in its time(late 80's early 90's) They still look good, and was probably one of the only probably the only car that looked good with 3 spoke wheels. :)

I'd love to find out more about them model wise. Is there a facelift/prefacelift difference?

I'm surprised how little come up for sale!

This could be a good buy....

O wait no... It's in High Wycombe

Our 'bruv' mates are a lot of things but they are not stupid. You will never see one with a Scab.

As they go, the car sounds decent and so does the owner. The stumbling block is than an E30 325 is a better car in virtually every way.
