Do M50 thermostat housing require a gasket when installing a new one?

Orange rubber one on a plastic housing which may be re usable. Paper one on an alloy housing which isn't.

The aftermarket alloy housings also use the rubber gasket

AFAIK ECP have dropped them and only supply plastic

I put Matt (aka Meatballs82) on the hunt a few months ago, but he couldn't find a supplier.

I got my alloy one with orange gasket from the U.S via ebay with p&p £27
