Think it's a fairly listed vehicle.

Compare that to the zoners 540 E34 being talked about on here this week- that was nicer spec, R plate, very well looked after and £2k
Bronzit gone- she lives on

i think 328bhp is a bit optimisic to say the least. 6 speed manual though, getting rare these days.

A Manual 540i Touring sounds nice but surely in today's world is a little slow unless we were in 1995

most of us are in 1988 so its fast to us. Seriously these are fast cars and nice to drive if they are properly set up which they almost never are.pony wrote:A Manual 540i Touring sounds nice but surely in today's world is a little slow unless we were in 1995

Thats a £500 breaker. Nothing more.
Ah the good old 'haven't had time to change the fuse' claim, like its really arduous process. To think that was once a really nice car.

As wonderful as a BMW E34 M5 LE with Nurburgring Suspension is .... I mean honestly is it even fast now days when a 335i/335d will give it a good run and when a E90 320d can give a E30 325i Sport a good run ?
I am thinking E63 M6 Coupe V10 is one of the last ones left that will be considered fast for a long whole yet

Re the 3.8 M5 ,Any car that can do 60 in less than 6 seconds and pull 170 top end is still fast . Soni, a £1500 Fireblade will absolutely molest your 20k knucklemeister so need to be so c0ckypony wrote:As wonderful as a BMW E34 M5 LE with Nurburgring Suspension is .... Lol I didn't mean to sound cocky.
I would love a balls out ride in a 993 Turbo, , E63 M6 V10
Is amazing that the beautiful classis E24 M635CSi performance wise at least can be matched by E46 330Ci Coupe Sport .... Such is the progress of technology ....

+1
Not to mention a ten year old cl600(10k should buy one) that will blow the doors off the m3 while the benz pilot is adjusting his radio.
Never give it the big one as there is always something faster. For the record the 335i and the d variant are just as fast as the e34 m5. Its not amazing its just how things progress, manufacturers aren't going to produce cars that are slower each time a new model comes out.

Not seen anyone in an old CL that looks like a Gentleman. Plenty of undesirables however.

A real shame . A perfect example of how most mass produced cars, no matter how expensive and desireable , eventually end up on a boat to China after spending their twilight years ferrying undesireables about.
You can buy a CL now for 3k. A mate of mine bought a 03 plate sub 100k CL55 Kompressor, which is the bad boy, for 6 bags . That foooker was 100k+ less than ten years ago !
I think they are a great looking car and I would love one, but 15 mpg and the harsh reality that they are rather crap as an ownership proposition means it is easy to say no.

Look at E46 M3's. it was hard to imagine 10 years ago they'd end up with £150 coiloverz and four non matching budget part wornz.pacerpete wrote:Andyboy wrote:Not seen anyone in an old CL that looks like a Gentleman. Plenty of undesirables however.

If rent was avalable three months at a time, we know what disc most of them would be packing and it wouldn't be a dozen
