Soni if you want to try the M3 against her in some drag action i'd love to see the result

The result will be that the specific output of Sonis knuckles will be toasted

All the numbers suggest from the Internet ie the statistics suggest otherwise ....
I think a lot of it would depend on the start .... I am surprised you have not raced Barry yet Simon ?

Like a retard he sped off last month, i thought we were going to have a ding dong. Alas not!
Maybe after the C2 touring used to give his sport a good whipping he didn't want more of the same??

This gaff was in West London for years but moved. They come highly recommended, always used to be more along tha classic stuff, Smiths, Jaeger gauges and the likes of custom cables etc. However, I had a "jumpy" speedo in my Scorpio, They sorted that for me. May be worth giving them a call?
I used a place in Nottingham some years ago for a Jaguar(Daimler!)cable speedo correction,Richfield or similar...just wondering if yours has the wrong face on the dial? The needle is in the correct position but the face is incorrect?

Hmmm .... I think a E46 M3 with a good launch could take Alpina but gotta pour over the stats to double check lol ?

I'd jack up the back and count the pinion to crownwheel ratio. Then put it into a speed/ rpm calculator with the tyre sizes - there 's a good one on the Unixnerd BMW site. Maybe it'd had a pumpkin swap.

I had to be up at 5am so didn't want to hang about and more to the point, why didnt you try to keep up if you wanted a tussle?
You were right behind me when we dropped when we dropped onto a40.
We'll see soon enough if it lives up to all the hype.

the B10 Bi-turbo doesn't need to prove anything, the figures add up and it will severely serve an E46 M3 in style..

A indicated 186 reading a true 130
I don't care how big the turbo lag is, how unresponsive the engine is, how heavy and in unaerodynamic the Alpina is no match for the mighty S54

I will also ad, despite me sitting on the fence with regards to which is the quicker car, show both turds a twisty road or track and the E46 will leave the E34.

I drove a couple. One in the UK and one in Ze Fatherland at an Alpina meet. It will slaughter an M3. Figures are one thing, but the almighty mid range wallop is another. The way it picks up from 80/90 and gets going is epic. They are also lag free and easy to drive fast.
The M3 is nice but not in the same league.

In what respect? All round or just straight line performance?

Oh, in a straight line. The E46 is a lovely thing and a fave of mine, but fuck me the Bi-Curious is bastarding fast. Probably a real handful as well.

I'm not fussed TBH and despite sitting on the fence i'm more inclined to think the BT will have the edge.
It's Simon and Soni who are locking horns over it but i guess it will have to be me that goes toe to toe with Si as Soni is a bit precious with his M3 CS where as with me its just another turd.

The figures never lie
I think a E46 M3 Coupe with SMGII in S6 Mode with Launch Control will give the turbo lagged Alpina a hiding ....

You'll never find out, because you will never drive one. That means you are not in a position to comment with any authority.

i'm not locking horns. Just jesting, would be nice to have a drag race up santa pod just to pit such cars and see whats what. There won't be anyone else bringing one along to give some sh!t up there but there will be 100 e46 m3's
Soni come to guildford next thurs and we can see how epic the lack of turbo lag is. I'll take you out. Its no flatter than any other m-power engine at low RPMS tbh in my experience bar say the V8 M5. Which gets up and goes in any gear at any rpm.
The e46 was geared up to keep it infront of the e36 version. 3.64 vs 3.23. Due to the weight gain the car has over the e36 and the fact bmw could only squeeze 20 odd more ponies out of the old S50 donk.

Don't forget the difference in unsprung weight of the CS 'loys Si. That's worth .00987 bhp at 6983 rpm bruv.
