Hi i just got 4 14'' standard bbs wheels with no tyres to put winter tyres on. What was the standard size these ran on originally? cheers.

Bottletops were 195/65/14, I think they're the same width as the 14" BBS. Getting winter tyres in that size is grim, the only ones I could find were £114 a corner. I've fitted 180/70/14 and they're good so far. You get a 2.5mm increase in ride height and something less than 1% change in the speedo according to willtheyfit.com

OOPs, I meant 185/70/14.

Let me know how you get on looking for 195s, I don't think there's a lot made these days.

I got them from www.oponeo.co.uk for £50 each (Goodyears).

Kos, was it the same on steel wheels? The wiki says 185/65 was stock but I don't think that can be right...

I think the Wiki needs changing. The best source of info would probably be pukar, since he has stickers with pretty much every known tyre size on it.

I forgot to check as over the weekend I put my winter steels on, will check again tonightas I am at the Ace.
it will differ on steels, 195/65 is for the bottle tops and 14" BBS style wheel
