Did this need to go through a vosa check because of the extensive work on the body?and would it need to be changed on the log book?

Hmmm, numerous things extra I would of done here. Also, the colour choice would of been different. Needless to say it's not a bad job with regards to smoothing the tailgate into the rear panel etc.
Top of my list on 'extra bits' - mtech f+r bumpers, wheels change, roof chop so it looks a longer car. Just because it looks a touch too tall... Good project
I'll check with the manager

I like this a lot
Consider changing the wheels for some 15" BBS and a decent twin-pipe exhaust would finish it off very nicely.
Nice work

nice job !
personly i wouldnt put mtech bumpers on it, it would make it look a bit "max power" rather than a pick up, id like to see it liftted with a 4wd convsersion and general grabber AT tyres and steel modular wheels, a proper pick up

I was at Donington BMW car show back in 1994ish -
I liked it then and I'm liking it now, I wonder what happened to it.

One way of putting it.
Not to my tastes personally but looks like you've done lots of work on it and so fair play to you.

Interesting ute. What work did you have to do to get it through a BIVA test and keep it's original registration?
