yer, not sure yet whether to winch up the car really high with the chain block and then take out the M40 using gravity and pop up the M30 up on the crane and bolt up the x member to it...

You need to get the back wheels on ramps, then torpedo the engine & box in. Thats how we did the 325 lump.

ok, that should work ok, bit of trial and error, should be fun, i've got the crane and a chain block winch so should be fun. Question for you mate, did you lower the car as i'm wondering what the springs are fitted at the moment? ta.

No, it was that ride height when I bought it.

Quick update, car now starts properly, done about 100 miles since the change, the Oil light appears to be working as its should, sprayed contact cleaner in the C101 & the connector, its been fine ever since, Temp. gauge still permanently in the red, car idles terribly, it'll race up to 1500 then the needle would sink to just above 0, then lurch back up to 1500 again, it'll hesitate & kangaroo, when driving at slow speed. above 3500 rpm it drives lovely.

Hi Phil, sounds a bit like your old cab which did this...remember ?? and that was an air ingress engine side of the AFM, i would spray the carb cleaner around this area and see if the revs change, i've got some here and would be happy to help you try fix it if you came over (with me crane in the boot) cheers jim

forgot to mention, if there is one spot of dust on that engine, you are in big trouble !! Can't wait to see it fitted.

ok, that's a shame, thought we'd sorted that. I still think its the ICV so get a decent one and fit it.

Hopefully this is solved, looked at the new AFM to TB hose tonight, checking for any splits etc... found a threaded hole with nothing leading off it, felt air coming out from it, stuck my finger in it, Bingo! runs perfectly, take the finger away, runs like a bag of spanners again. Put some electrical tape, on the hole, will order the blind plug tomorrow :-

Will drive the 40 mile round trip to work tomorrow, fingers crossed, it'll be fine.

Still got the Temp.gauge reading in the red, will look at that next.
