if you want to lower it PROPERLY then go for eibach or h & r springs (40mm drop) with either bilstein B6 or B8 shocks.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Just to be picky, the wheels will be "replicas" probably made by BK so don't pay genuine alpina money.

It's not that is it, 17" and slammed, is not a "great drive" ruins the inside rear of the tyres, hits bumps etc, steering/cornering suffers, it's more just a look at me G cruise set up as opposed to a drivers expirience

It sure makes a difference compared to the 15" bbs alloys but it's not as bad as people make out.

17 inch Alpina reps are gash. They look shit, everyone knows they're fake and they are both easy to bend on potholes and are very heavy - more unsprung weight, the more work the dampers have to do. Stick to the 15 inch BBS wheels - even 14 inch stuff is better.

I dunno. I quite like the way my reps look. And on a cab, I ain't going to be thrashing it about to damage them so much, I don't hide the fact they are reps, they ain't pretending to be anything other than a wheel that someone else made to look like alpina's . . . . Although it is a pretty harsh ride and fairly unforgiving if you get it wrong.
And yea, for the op, bang it down to 60mm (mine is) and be prepared for cursing every speed bump and eating your rear tyres. If you can afford one set of tyres every year and the battering your ego gets everytime you scrape over another of the Local Authorities finest exercises in futility then go for 60mm. But take it from one who knows, if you want substance over style, stick to 40mm.
Which prompts me to ask has anyone got and 40mm boingy bits for sale? Thats where I'm looking to go next, then I might be able to get the thing back on my drive . . . .

60mm is quite a drop if you're considering driving the car with 4 up in an area with potholes.
Mine is dropped 40mm on H&R springs and I can't have more than 2 people in the car.
Went around a cambered roundabout at about 20 mph the other day with 3 of us in the car and the rear tyres were rubbing like theres no tomorrow.
Get a decent set of shocks if you're going that low, definitely worth it.

I've got 0-60mm adjustable coilovers I ordered from schmiedman.com. they were like like 370 euro and they ride comfortably. I'd post a pic but I don't have any worth while yet. They should give you the drop your looking for.
