Lots of skills used here, impressive to have got it all working.
Having had a couple of M51's,it would be wise on the injector return pipes to create a loop from injector 1 and 6 back to tank, I used a washer hose T piece for this. otherwise the cap on injector 6 gets cooked over time and leaks diesel everywhere.
Secondly the 3.0L E36 M3 rack is a dud, is variable ratio and super super slow in the straight ahead position, the 3.2L is the same as other E36's but has lock limiting spacers on the ends on the rack inside the boots which should be removed.

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

What mods have you made to the engine on this as I have a e36 tds as a daily driver and it currently return on 28mpg - I know the egr has been removed anything else altered?
have you had it remapped?

inlet track & the mechanical pump - what did you clean these out with?GemE30 wrote:Crossie - This hasn't been remapped as we do not run an ECU so cannot be done. All we have done is fully remove the EGR, cleaned out all the inlet track & the mechanical pump, we also turned the wastegate actuator in and turned the fueling up and are currently getting near on 42mpg.
how did you turn the fueling up?

the more i see this car the more i think about doing this conversion
had a look on ebay & found a few m51 engines on there for about £300, & knowing someone who is a dab hand at rebuilding them is making it even more tempting to do.
loving the car gem it just gets better.
if you don't mind m asking, where did you get the braided hoses from & end peices/conectors for the catch tank from?
also, what would be involved in the whole conversion??
kepp having dirty thoughts about tech 2 sport on keskin kt1's with a big old force fed oil burner up front (heavily tweeked of course

We got the hoses from East Midlands Hydraulics in Ilkeston.
The whole conversion is a ballache.

it might be a ballache but if the end results look as good as your's then it's worth it lol.

In all honesty dude, it really is. Sump's are one of the main issues we are having trouble finding.

Sorry if you've already mentioned it somewhere, but how many bhp and torques are you expecting?
How much do they have as standard?
