Hi guys,

My E30's getting a bit shakey these days. usually at low speeds (around 30mph) when i touch the brakes i get vibrations through the steering. I've suspected for a while that the front left wheel is able to forwards and backwards very slightly but never been able to check it properly. Does this sound like a likely cause? at motorway speed it starts vibrating too without the brakes

what does everyone suggest i do? what is most likely to need to be replaced?

cheers guys

If you can move the wheel then that is most deffo your problem to start with. Stick some new wish bone's on and new bushes and that should sort it :D

Once you've done that and you still have a little vibration there you should think about replacing your disc's and pad's but the wish bone's should sort your problem out.

Cheer's

Cheers mate!
As i said, i suspect i moves but without seeing the car braking from outside whilst traveling at the same speed i'm not entirely sure

is it possible to just change the bushes? or are new wishbones/track arms expensive? I'm not trying to cut corners, but i'm pretty skint right now, what with christmas, road tax due, my new radiator, the sony psp i just bought yesterday, my rubbish wages at work... Anyway, i don't really want to replace things that are actually alright. I'll definitely put some poly bushes on if that'll sort things out though

You can just change the bushes/ball joints, theres three, two ball joints ? (inner + outer) and the rear bush.
