what sort of range should you expect out of a full tank of fuel on a facelift 320i steady motorway speed

I've had 39.9 mpg before in my 320i auto on a journey from Portsmouth area back to Leicester. Based on that, and it being a 55 litre tank, that calculates to 478 miles. Although I wouldn't want to rely on those figures and your car needs to be running perfectly.

If you can get over 30mpg from a 320i then you're a king among men. I'd estimate 360 miles would drain a 55-litre tank to the last drop; 400 if you have the bigger tank.
But that's an optimistic number.

I had 39.9 mpg from that trip. Refuelled when I got back to Leicester and did the maths when I got back in. It was 100% Correct as I checked it over and over. Based n that figure and the size of the 320i tank, that's the number it works out to. I wouldn't trust it though

so 350 miles or so with megasquirt without the warning light cuming on is a fair effort then on a manual car

About 33mpg all day long provided I don't get stuck in traffic mixed a road and motorway.
Watching the meter carefuly will show when its juicy and when its lean so it can train you to the best way to drive the car.
I find the acceleration enrichment on the m20 is quite high so it actually pays to get to the desired speed as fast as possible rather than smoothly so as to minimize the time spent in the acceleration enrichment area of the mapping.
