New beast arrived... Well, I collected it last night. Pretty rare 316i auro 4 door winkeye

Low millege, very rusty rear end. Rest of the car looks to be spotless but need to inspect a bit more. Had a quick look at it earlier and looks to have had some cowboy respray on the rear end so im guessing the back end has had some sort of new bodged on rear panel for it to rust the way it has and no where else

Runs a bit odd and cuts out if it stops, but it didnt d it by the time I got it back so might have been because it had been sitting for 6 months or so.

carb autos often stall when slowing due to dirt in the jets , quick fix, old carb granadas used to be common for it

this a project or breaker?,.

Cheers dude, i'll get it all cleaned out at some point and see if it runs any better. I had a feeling it would be just a 'clean out fix', as for breaker or not. I'm gonna have a pull at the rusty rear end and have a look before I decide... The only thing is, its got there 2 weird openings on the rear

I have a good shell I can remove what I need to replace but it depends on how far I can be bothered to go for a 4 door in all honesty. The 1.6 auto is cool though, I dont mind that part. And I getting desperate for a chromie on the road

The 316 M10 carb turd actually has a 1.8 big block. Horrid thing, get it weighed :)

I knew you would approve Peter :D

1.8 Big block you say? Proper beast then

@ Phil - Its just a shell mate :D A tidy 4 door chromie shell. Pete's been hassling me to buy it for ages as he wants a solid 4 door for a resto

Is that sterling silber, Jim?

If it is what's the condition of the boot lid?

Thanks

Oh well. Thanks anyway.

Actually doesn't look too bad. Doesn't seem to be any rust above the rear bumper.

Maybe if you move it out of the lake it will be a keeper?

There is some rot around the rear lights too so I'm guessing some sort of crap repair in the past as you can see the crap paint work too. It's being move tomorrow, was plonked in the lake as it was the easiest spot the other night when I got it back.

318pmk has just bought a turd with an M10 with no power steering, and he is already whinging about how horrible and heavy it it (he is right) If yours has PAS , you have a live victim .

A M10 pas kit is a rare item, I can smell a gouging coming on :)
