My 320i wouldnt start last week and after numerous checks i realised the wire leading to the ignition coil was damaged, it came loose from the clamp and the fan blade nicked it. I connected the frayed wires back together , covered it up and tried starting it again and everything was fine. Yesterday i started, let it run for a bit and switched off. Got up this morning and cant get the damn thing started. What could the problem be ? What do i need to check in a step by step order so i can determine the fault?
Its a pre-facelift L-Jetronic controlled 320i. The fule pump is working , the fuel delivery is fine , the starter seems to be fine..everything turns over as it should but nothing doing so far.

No crank sensor i think , its an early Jetronic engine.
