took my car out yesterday for a play trying to learn to drift it - anyway james (driftybolox - on here - even though the traitor has sold his e30) who is quite useful demonstrates a novel parking technique next to my e30:

crap video of one of the few times the e30 was not spun into oblivion during the learning process - which is definitely ongoing:

anyway james then took me out in my beemer at the close of play and proved whilst drifting it at 90mph(!) - there is nothing wrong with the car - just the regular muppet behind the wheel! :D

Very nice mate!

Where is that you are practising, airfields that allow that sort of behaviour are in very short supply!

it was at bruntinghtorpe in leicester - this was just at the close of play - when no one was using this loop and by prior permission on the radio etc etc ...u know the drill 8)

anyway bit of a trot from guildford and cheeks are still suffering from a 2.5 hr journey home sitting in buckets with a car with fairly stiff suspension - although norfolk would not be too far away i guess

Looks like you had fun, nice and sideways from your mate

I was out at brands last week in my mates elise and he got black flagged for too much sideways action :( "this is not a drift day" the marshal said :D

i think a lot of tracks are pretty cagey about people drifting all over the place - went to a test day at donington in february driving a spaceframed mid engined uniroyal beetle and a guy from ukd1 was drifting his e46 m3 and some of the punters got a bit twitchy about "unsafe driving". in fairness the guy in question was pretty good and made sure he had his fun away from other cars on the track - but i think one guy fell off following him - cos he was too busy watching the spectacle going onto redgate - - but noise is also an issue - drifting on dry tarmac often sparks up the dreaded noise meters

- car is a 2.7 with 284 6 branch etc etc caged/h&r's stripped out - have ordered megasquirt from ant which will hopefully mean that the motronic can be drop kicked soon - built with low 9.1 c:r for iminent m90 installation + ported head supposed to be collected at the end of the week - try and get it fitted b4 zone rolling south road day on the 11th - but might be a bit tight timewise

- yeah based nr guildford - work in shere live in wonersh

bonus video james has uploaded - just his cefiro - but quite good:

james has been drifting since 2001 - organised first uk drift event - and yes he has gone through a lot of cars

diff -=lsd whatever ratio came with sport i guess - bit of transmission shunt now - might have to investigate that further

I reckon a trip down boxhill one night would be a laugh. (I'll start a thread so we don't hijack this one...)
