What are my options for upgrading the brakes on a RHD E30?

What did Alpina do in the C2? I remember reading somehwere that the Mercedes W124 callipers will fit? Can anyone confim this?

Thanks,
alex

You can buy Wilwood 4-pot conversions from Rally Design. No idea how good they are, but I'm buying one! :)

Any other options other than the Willwoods?

Yeah they do, it's: http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/default.php

I was about to say it's crap, but they seem to have updated it (it used to be pages of their catalogue scanned in!)

I don't doubt that AP etc. will sell you a kit, but Wilwood are pretty unbeatable on price, and they're even dust sealed now :)

Currently working on a "Budget" 302mm/4 pot conversion using Brembo calipers from an E38 and discs from a Chrysler Voyager.

Will require a minimum of 16" wheels

Cost so far
Brembo Calipers Ԛ£15
Discs Ԛ£64
Pads Ԛ£20
Got to get them drilled to 4 stud some time next week (probably).
Haven't had time to do it yet :x

Hi,

I have come across a full Alpina B6 brake kit for sale. Would this be a worthy upgrade for my 325i cabby and will it fit??

Any help appreciated

Steve :)

Alpina B6 was based on a normal E30, and I don't think they converted to 5 stud, if it was a B6.S then it would have been based on an E30 M3 so it would be for a 5 stud.

This kit was for the B6 not the s version. The guy selling it says it will definately fit my car but Would this be an improvement over my standard set up or would i be better buying the wilwood kit discussed earlier.

Thanks
Steve:)

To be honest I'm not sure what parts Alpina used, they probably just used calipers from a bigger car, and made some discs for it, don't forget to take this into account, with regards to replacing discs when needed, and price and weather theyre readily available.
Fitting shouldn't be a problem.
I was just making sure with regards to the B.6S/B.6 as people commonly refer to them as just a B.6 like Roy on here, who owns a B.6S and always calls it a B.6!!

How much do you want for the alpina brake kit?

Disc + callipers and carriers? Complete ready to fit?
