Has anyone fitted Rear Head Rests to a Cabby? I'm looking at how you do it and what parts are required, and have read the Wiki page for the touring, but can't find anything specific to a Cabby.
I also think that the Rear Head Rests on a Cabby are different to those on a saloon or touring, is this correct?
Any help would be great guys, thanks.

Yup, I have.
All you need is the headrest fixing kit, they come up on here often, or you could rob a set from a breaker.
As ever, measure thrice and cut once. I think the front and rear HR are different on a cabby, but I got mine from a cabby with original RHR.
The only fiddly job is cutting the holes in the foam, it's a time consuming job.
I fitted the mounts and then stuck something shaped like a headrest 'pole' up to the top of the rear bench and took my cutting marks from there. Cut a very small hole first and open it up when you are sure that it's properly aligned.

The rear headrests on a convertible started life exactly the same as the front ones. The reason that they appear shrunken and shrivelled is what twenty years of UV light does .
Convertible headrests , along with M3 headrests are not 'piped' whereas as standard E30 ones are.
The mounting bracket kits are the same on saloon and convertible.
I have headrests in various colours and complete mounting bracket kits in stock

Perhaps this is why E30 is fitted with a pair of external mirrors?BenHar wrote:Rear headrests are a pain when reversing.

IMO Cabbies look so much nicer with RHR'a fitted than without.

Hi Pete, I've PM'ed you back again but it seems to be stuck in my Sentbox / Outbox (whichever is the one that means it's not gone?) so please let me know if you can read the second message, alternatively drop me a pm with your phone number and I'll call you. Cheers.pacerpete wrote:The rear headrests on a convertible started life exactly the same as the front ones. The reason that they appear shrunken and shrivelled is what twenty years of UV light does .
