weld your diff and you will drift like the best of em ,probably make your mrs wet her self more often
seriously tho gas has nothing to do with any of this that noise could be alot of things the diff would be noisy most of the time or when cornering not really just when setting off

Well if you are asking a serious question, welding the diff won't help from your description. It sounds like a gearbox or clutch issue.
But why do you keep mentioning the 535 on gas, we get the point...

And my advice stands, Welding your diff wont make you drift "like the best of 'em".......
I thought you "Used to have" an E30, a "318 touring but it was written off in an accident"

If your using your car for drifting weld your diff. If not dont bother.
Your friend is obviously a tool if he thinks welding a diff will fix a clutch issue.

Your current diff. is broken. Just change it for a good used one. That way you will have a car that can be used legally on the road.
Ignore the idiot who suggested that you 'weld' it.

E30 316 diff. will be a small case type with a ratio of around 4.1 : 1.
A usable second hand one is worth little more than its scrap value. Should be plenty available from the traders/fraggers on here.
