Take it you've got 316i/318i non vented discs at the moment?
The 325i front discs are the same size as what you have, but they are vented to help keep the brakes cooler. They won't increase the braking over what you have now, just stop the brakes cooking themselves whilst trying to stop the extra weight of the 6 cyl lump.
If you're fitting a 6 cyl lump, the least you should do is fit the vented discs as well. A decent standard sized disc (260mm) and pad setup, with some braided hoses and decent fluid will give a perfectly good brake setup for road use.
If the car is to be used on track etc, maybe the likes of the WMS 280mm 4 pot kit would be more suitable, but budget around £500 for that.

If you fit vented discs, you will also need calipers designed for vented discs as they are wider than the ones for solid discs.jmc330i wrote:Take it you've got 316i/318i non vented discs at the moment?

All comes down to money
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

The OP said about fitting the 325i brake setup, so I figured he would know this, but yes you're right I should of said discs and calipers.Motorhole wrote:
