So after knocking a curb, I smashed my track rod end.

Ordered new parts for it.

Havent got any tools to fit them myself.

I need to replace the exhaust, but cant get the downpipe off as the socket extender is in my boot.

I NOW cant get into my boot as when i moved my sub into my backseat, it must of altered something in the alarm to not open the boot.

Anyone want to come and buy my car?! Iv just about had enough.

Mate weve all been there with these cars and like any other old car it does test your patience at times. Sounds like your having a right mare, my normal course of action when I feel like torching the thing is walk away give it 24 hours and youl find the love, gusto or what ever again :)

Chill out have a beer (or 6) & leave it till the next day & you'll feel ready & calm enough to tackle it.

As always polsta with a useless post.

Back to the topic, do as the others have said and take a step away from the car for a day or two. Can you borrow the extension from a mate, perhaps they've got a ball joint splitter as well.

I'm with jimbob, ask around your mate's to see if they've got the tools you need. If not try a few local garages (i did before I got all the tools I found out I needed) as they might let you borrow them for a day or two.

don't give up, it all come's good in the end, look at verde & his "ringer".

Mate, at least you've been able to drive yours! Mine has been in bits in a garage for 3 years. Have come close to loosing faith a few times but now it's about 80% done, so glad I didn't.

The boot not opening might actually be the central locking issue rearing it's head. Look up the wiki for it. All it takes is a wire.

Old cars need lovin'. New cars are just as much a pain in the arse, but you can't even entertain working on them, and the garage will charge you far more than giving your current baby a little tlc.

Take a step back, have a ciggie, go down the pub, have a chat wiv yer bruvs, and it's amazing how you feel at three in the morning, pissed up with a tear in your eye lying across the bonnet of your e30 trying to explain that it was just a 'thing' and that'll you'll never threaten to leave it again.

We've all been there.

E30's are well engineered and straight forward to work on
...track rods are not rocket science and if you can't borrow
The tools then get down to halfords, the are not expensive.

Never give up, buying a car is easy... Restoring one is far more worthy.

Keep you chin up mate.

Rough with the smooth..

I found working on my car became a lot less stressful once I bought a decent sized socket set. Having a bulk of sockets and bars etc in one case made it enjoyable rather than going to my parents place and raiding my Dad's scattered collection.. Halfords do a few relatively decent sets.

As everyone else has said, have a day away from it, read some build threads on here.. That normally gets me going again..

Yeah man, just walk away and leave it for a few days. You'll chill out and come back to it with a fresh head.
