Hi guys,
Need a new tyre - Toyo Proxi 205/55/R15.
Any suggestions where I could get one cheaper than my local garage is trying to charge me?
Cheers,
Nick

Even I use Camskill.
Paying for 4 tyres for my E39 shipped from UK to Spain they came in around 30% cheaper then any Spanish based website / discount tyre supplier.
TBH I don't know how they do it, but I don't care !

Bear in mind that your local tyre place usually includes fitting valve balancing and old tyre disposal
Camskils are on average £10 cheaper than my 2 local places however by the time you all deliver and fitting charges it's only a few quid saved.
For the aggro of hanging around at home waiting for a delivery and then loading them up into my nice clean car it's hardly worth it
But anyway camskils are the cheapest. Black circles are cheap too and can offer a fitted price as well

I've always used black circles, they give you several options, give you a list of garages where they can be fitted and balanced on their website... The price is all in that is showed per tyre.. you just turn up with your receipt..Kos wrote:

I check the prices on camskill/black circles and then go to speak to the local independent tyre fitter. He always comes in cheaper and you'll be back on the road within 24hrs.

Thanks again guys!
Will look into camskill and black circles. My local garage had been quoting £85 + VAT + £15 fitting!

The cheapest I have found in order is allnewtyres, oponeo then camskill but there's not much in it. Oponeo takes a while to deliver allnewtyres are in Macclesfield if your close they may fit for the same price

www.mytyres.co.uk are pretty good, loads of choice not seen a site with more choice however camskill is usually a couple of pound cheaper if they have the same tyre.

I've used blackcircles a few times - good service.
Kos is right - camskill are cheap but by the time you've factored in postage and the hassle factor plus then getting ripped off asking a tyre fitting place to fit tyres they havent supplied you may as well go with blackcircles or a local place.

On average your looking at £15-£20 a corner for fitting/valve/balance/disposal at a regular tyre place. If you buy from tyre traders they will send the tyres to a local fitters for you to turn up at and have them fitted.
Or if you live near me you can bribe me with ££ notes/favours

£10 - £15 a corner phoning round here last time I tried - the attitude I got from most places last time I checked was that they didnt want to be fitting tyres they hadnt supplied so if you want it done you pay through the nose for it

Did those DIY workshops not take off in the UK then?
I use one here if I need to lift the car or use specialist equipment.
The E39 tyres I fitted there myself and IIRC it cost me about 30€ to fit all 4.
As mentioned above, no garage would fit tyres that they hadn't supplied.

Best thing to do is get a freind to go with you who knows the guys running the place.
My dads friend owns a tyre place in slough and I got a literally brand new tyre for my peugeot 106, fitted and everything for......wait for it.........£5!
It was a good brand aswell, Pirelli or something
