Iv managed to get my speedo to work on my m52 after messing around with various diff sensors but, once I got the faults cleared on the ecu it went back into limp mode. Speedo and rev counter are fine. There's no other issue with the car.
It's the same fault, no speed signal. Iv heard that there's some green wire in the glove box area I need to bridge or something? I'm out at the garage now so a quick reply would be great!
Limp mode!!!

My ecu needed the speed signal to come out of limp mode. The moment I put the speed signal wire to the ecu, it came out of limp mode. (Obviously it has to stay connected all the time for the car to run properly)
Run the wire from the instrument cluster to the ecu speed signal input.
Ie forgotten which pin in the ecu the speed signal is, and also what wire from the instrument cluster is the speed signal output, but this info is available elsewhere on the web.
If you're still stuck I can send you some pictures or info.

Thanks, got it sorted so I'm greeted with a 7000rpm redline 
The goggle machine sorted me out. I just needed to get the speed signal to the ecu which thankfully turned out to be an easy job. I bridged 2 wires together at the main loom connector c101
The first was on the engine side of the loom. Pin 9 brown/Red.
The second wire was on the car side of the loom. Pin 14 black/white. (I had connected this to a blue/yellow wire). So I just connected those two wires and whoosh!
Pin 9 /x20 brown-red/ to pin 14 /c101 black-white
