Is it possible to refit your prob with engine and box still bolted in position? If so how? Thanks

Yes it is. Should slide shorter on the splines.

No need to slide it shorter on the splines to remove it. Dropping the centre bearing down is all that's required.

Did you pre load the centre bearing when you refitted it?
