It's amazing! I just went to the garage to find a window winder off an e30 as I knew I had one for someone off here. I thought they were made of plastic with a plastic nob on etc. Little did I realise that it is actually made of good strong solid metal with a rubber nob on, which over 15+yrs has not perished! I cant believe the quality and craftsmanship on this small almost insignificant peice of equipment!
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

you wear studded belts and slide into the seat dont ya? lol
you should always sit in the seat when you enter a car and not slide in and about on it as this is why they have problems
My cloth seats are immaculate

I think the seats arnt bad (my drivers one has small wear patch). I think the interior is very nice in general, but i dont understand the door card quality, you will know what i mean if you have ever taken them off. Made of hardboard and no real 'shape' to them?! But they look ok when fitted. Also why do the seat runners always rust?! The only rust i have found on my car has been on the bottoms of my seats!!!

lol, hmm. My car is mint though, not any rust anywhere to be found except the exhaust! (and a few bolts etc). I dont see how it can have leaked! The rust on the runners is only very little, but still annoys me as its the only place!

could have been something as simple as a sunroof drain tube or a dodgy seal sometime in it's life...bmwe30mtech wrote:lol, hmm. True, for the most part the interiors are pretty well done. My gripe is with the rear ashtray and the handbrake part of the console. They're so flimsy and the plastic grain doesn't match anything else in the car. I'm thinking of filling the handbrake console with expanding foam to insulate (a lot of cold comes in this way) and make it feel/sound more substantial.Bob_S wrote:I cant believe the quality and craftsmanship on this small almost insignificant peice of equipment!
