Hi All,

Just got my car back from having Leda Coilovers fitted. Great improvement in cornering and weight transfer, although they are fairly stiff now !

Wow, what adjustments do the piggy back have high low speed compression or rebound?

The Brakes are Tarox G88 disks with Ferrodo DS2500 pads.

Front shocks are fully adjustable oil filled, with 475 lbs main springs with helper springs

Rear shocks are remote canister gas pressurised fully adjustable, with 225 lb main springs and helper springs again.

Shocks and springs were a little short of 2K fitted

but this thing handles just a little bit now

So they are 'real' coilovers on the rears now too...?

That means that the whole of the rear suspension is now sat on the two lower shock mounts, rather than the spring plates... have you had to toughen up the shock mounts at all...?

Just curious... as my 'pretend' FK coilovers were still using the spring plates on the rear, with an adjuster fitted.

Yes, they are real coilovers at the back too, I am assured that the shock mounts at the rear are way more than strong enough to take the springs and shocks together !

The helper springs are far softer than the main springs and are used to help absorbe some of the banging and crashing that you would get with firm springs and rose joints.

I thought the 'helper' springs were there to make sure the 'real' springs don't dislocate when the body is raised as the 'real' springs haven't got any play in them as they're so stiff... as when the weight is back down on the wheels again, the helper springs are completely squashed.

They look cool though... but Ãƒ”šÃ‚£2k is a lot of money to splash out with... I'm glad they're preforming well though fella!

it was a lot to spend, but a recent change of job has left me a little more flush. A half cage and some decent seats is nect on the list.

As Geeman says I'm pretty sure that is another reason to have the helper springs fitted.

Would like to have Ledas on my next project (whenever that is)

Are they okay for normal daily driving, or are they a pure race track set-up?

Wicked looking suspension set up....

Wish i had that kinda green to blow on a suspension.....

Seriously though, is it worth the full Ãƒ”šÃ‚£2k...there are cheaper set ups from companies like KW that would be worth a look....

to be honest, I am 99% sure that they will be fine for daily driving.

They are firm, there is no question about that, but I guess it depends what you want. I have only driven the car about 25 miles since having them fitted. About 5 of these were down country lanes near the Leda factory - i must say this was quite unpleasant !

Apart from that it was all on 'normal' roads which was fine - fantastic round roundabouts !

Put it this way - if you were a girl a sports Bra would be advisable.

Its only the driver that needs to improve now

think Gaz shocks do similar kit and much cheaper

(for those that don't know Gaz is owned and run by one of the original founders of Leda)

Nice one dude! Money well spent by the looks of it.

Ignore dltach and his Gaz comment, he has a bad habbit of trying to wind people up. Goes without saying really, you would ignore someone who thinks Fords are built tough.....LOL....
