depends on the rev counter.

Wiring will be, but not limited to:

An Earth
A +12v
A signal pickup...
Pete don't care about colour, He would shag a rainbow if he could find the end of it....

yes it has a;

live
earth
and grey signal wire

car is a 325i but has a m60b40 in it so where would the signal wire go to...

im guessing the live would go to ignition?

Live would go to ignition-switched +12V. Signal will probably go to the switched side of the ignition coil LT terminals.
