Evening gents, im thinking about parting with my e30, but with values all over the place i'm not sure what to ask for it as a guide

its a H plate 318is, completely bog standard, its done a genuine 83k and its a 3 owner car, i'll be completely honest i need to sort a few odd jobs but its genuinely solid, it has a bubble of rust on the driver side front arch, a fag hole burn in the rear seat bench, the driver door isnt locking and the digital display on the dash (next to the heater controls) has lost its light. I will sort all those issues so could someone give me a rough value?

it has loads of history with the original owners book & service book. Also have evidence of the headgasket being done in 2010. Its mot'd until May next year

i havent got any decent pics but these are the ones from when i picked it up. Any help appreciated. Not 100% decided if its going to be sold yet

Lol

They do fetch around £1600+ in decent condition, a very few have gone on pistonheads touching the £2000 or maybe a bit lower with the nearest decent offers.

Have a look on pistonheads / Carandclassic / autotrader / eBay and see their spec and condition and see where yours fits, there is also a price guide in the Wiki which is being amended slowly (i think)

Yours defo seems worth £1500 minimum I'd say.

GLWS and she's pretty mint too.

Going by the guide:

Base Value @ £200
318iS + £800
2-Door + £200
1 rust - £150
sport seats / front e.windows / front fogs (assuming you have these ) + £300
Good old 15" BBS (and spare) +300
Mileage under 100k + £200

So disregarding the MOT/TAX its worth = £1850 going by the guide. Hopefully the rest should make sense.

NO MOT - £400
LESS THAN 3 MONTHS - £200
Tax + £20 for every month left

8) hope this helps....

Genuine, decent ones appear to be getting quite rare.
I was offered a very low miles / low owners one a while back, guy wanted over £3k for it.
To be fair, as an excellent example it was pretty much what I'd expect to pay; I'd get the jobs done that need attending to, have it detailed and probably advertise it on a classic site (carandclassic.co.uk for example)
The only true way to establish a value is to put it on the open market via a classic car auction; I'm a member of classic-Audi and have been for years - the number if their members that believe their grotty Ur Quattro is worth say £15000, "because a garage has got one line mine at that price" beggars belief.
Good luck with the sale!
Advice?
Get 12 months mot on it, get the jobs done and get it detailed.
Put it up for more than you actually want and be prepared to move on the price.

get it cleaned right up, things like engine bay that pic there doesnt do it any favours- bottle of autoglym engine degreaser spray, seal off all bay electrics-cover/wrap with plastic,tape/cling film , sprap the stuff around working with a toothbrush where needed, rings with a watering can or gentle slow running hose, and it will come up a lot nice, clean ,hoover, polish inside and out, take some now actual pics- that bit of effort and pride, will get a higher price and attract a better buyer

the amount of adverts on here that get put up (not saying this is an advert) cor cars for a grand,2,3, where people put up crappy or no pics,or a real dirty car, cant be bothered to put a decent well written write up etc,...yet expect people to flood calls offering thousands, also makes it look like youve got no pride in the car yourself- which doesnt attract them to it, plus a day or 2 giving it a real good going over, will increase the price some what

going good jim, not got it back yet, awaiting the call anytime now to go see it before the paint, all the other works done, went to see it a couple of weeks ago and instructed some more bits to be done, garage is all ready and had a full overhaul and new carpets and roof lining etc, shes ready and waiting

Thanks for all the opinions, i wouldnt says its showroom condition, but i'd say its certainly one of the better ones ive seen condition wise

i'll admit it needs a good clean and a few little jobs sorting, but it will polish up really well IMO

There are a few zoners that have/had laser blue iS's.

Royalratch, tomtomis spring to mind.

It is the rarest of the 318iS colours though followed by sterling silver.

if its a good low miler then the answer is you won't get another very quicly if at all. I can remember a few years ago on the zone there were 5 being broken at the same time! The zone has seen off many of them now

Most that left are total sh!te which leaves very few good ones. Be sure before you sell!!

i'm just a petrol head and love cars; i dont need to sell from a money point of view, but i bought the car so cheap it owes me just over scrap money. i have 3 other cars so never drive it

i could lock it away but i think that would be a shame
