Noticed today, that when stopped in traffic, the needle of the econometer on my 2000 E39 528i touring, stays fully to the left, giving an inaccurate reading, unlike on my E30s, where it goes fully to the right, indicating zero miles per gallon, which is correct when you're stopped with the engine running.
Trivial in itself, but I wondered if it might be indicative of some underlying fault, or do all E39s behave like this?
Any other E39 owners out there noticed what theirs does?
