I have been looking into ecu's recently and have been trying to source dumb ignitors cheaply. The ecu i plan to run is the adaptronic 420d and i can get the ignitor block from them with 4 channels but its £130 quid. Which seems alot
I know the megasquirters use the BIP373 which are cheap, but they seem to all be in the states, and need some minor circuitry, i want minimal wiring!
i found this page today -
http://www.tfelectronics.com.au/PageFiles/ignition.html
so have found a good source of common ignitors/ignition modules as they are on so many audi's , VW's and others below (3 channel)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-IGNITION- ... 415e77fa81
What i want to know is why are people not using these?
dumb Ignitors

Also you can pickup ignition amps from Nissans, Toyotas or just run VW coils with them built in.

cheers gunni - are there any 6 cylinders with inbuilt ignition amps? i found the vw/sloda one but its only for a 4 cylinder
i also looked into the late mazda mx-5 coils which have them inbuilt , using these i could i could use one full set and half of another- but i also read they are a bit gutless!
