I've still got this turd and has served me well with only a few hiccups. Its had control arms, engine mounts, windscreen, pair of continental tyres, front discs and pads, A/C aux fan and condenser and fluids.

Only a few issues to fix now and get ready to put winters wheels and tyres on. Whilst you can still find the odd tidy E34, trying to find a decent 525i or 535i sport is impossible.

176,000 miles, its not dead yet.

Yes. I've seen them of UK 525i sports and Continental Europe market cars.

Looks tidy, wipers in the correct position too!

I finally gave in and rescued my bonnet from death by wiper arm last week :)

I had to swap out the wiper rack on mine too, as the passenger wiper rubbed on the bonnet - a very common problem with these. B*gger of a job, too!

They're easy on a non AC car, a sod on a car with factory airs (heater fan) and a 2 day dashboard and heater out nightmare on cars with DeAvia aircon. The one and only time I did a wiper rack on a DeAvia car, I removed the heater fan cowling with an air saw and stuck it back on with araldite and packing tape. The problem is that on DeAvia cars, you can't unscrew the top fan cover with the heater unit fitted.

Apparently M5's with AC are an absolute shit of a job.

IIRC, it was you who supplied a replacement wiper rack for mine, and it worked a treat, so a belated thanks for that. :)

I still have the old worn one in the garage, but I don't suppose there's much of a market for those...
