The car in question is a 728i Sport, so a M52B28tu engine, 146 000 miles, its a breaker and I had written the engine off as I could see the tip of this iceberg through the oil filler cap, but on closer inspection under the rocker, its epic. The engine still runs ok but i dont think I'll be selling it on :D

I reckon its done most of its milage on 1 oil change. When I took apart my m20 which had 309 000 miles, FSH to 260 000, and then me servicing afterwards, it was clean as a whistle, the aluminium parts had just gone a golden colour.

So kids change that oil!!!

Bit of flushing oil, perhaps mixed with paraffin, will probably see that alright again.

Well, if it still runs OK at 146,000 miles, there can't be that much wrong with it...

Like I said the engine was written off before the car was purchased, there is no way I would put my name to selling that, it looks like somone has taken a dump in the oil filler after a night on the Guiness. Ross?

It will yield enough in parts, plus I need my sleep :D

Its going back together but only so I can move the barge that its in around.

Probably still runs okay...? The bits that matter looks to be perfectly clean. Ford CVH's used to be a LOT worse than that and still work fine.

Will go again no problems, just looks like its spent the last 10 years plodding up and down the motorway at a little over idle.
Bit of a head refurb and it will be a perfectly useable alloy engine.
