i think red tends to discolour and fade more so you notice more of a change when buffed up.

I've moved this topic to the Care and Detailing section.
As has been said, because red is the colour most prone to fade, when T-cut is applied, you will really notice the difference.

Picked up a 2 year old VW polo for a VW Dealer, lots of sratches, light and deep. I made a comment about it needs re-spray, He said "because of the solid red colour pigment it was one of the best to buff up"

For old (i.e. E30 age) red cars I'd recommend a colour-enhanced (i.e. red) wax.
Even cheap stuff like colour-enhanced Turtle Wax made more of a difference than when I T-cutted it.

your red is a solid colour
ienon metallic and therefore no laquer
this means the paints surface is exposed to elements and will oxidise very very easily
tcut is very hard work and imho stay away from coloured waxes etc
use a paint cleaner like p21s or something from meguiars range
it will give better results and be a lot easier to use

I agree with jon here. T cut is hard work, try meguiars cleaner wax or the DC system which contains 3 products.
Autogly also do a paint renovator.

Yep, it is running a 2.5 conversion, with super chip. Company called Lenham Sport in Reading.
It goes well,I did have a '90 m3 215bhp, this ones faster with more bottom end.
I bought it with the work done, when you asked I got all invoices out and rang the Guy up and he confirmed it.
I can't judge it realy, drove a Lambo Galardo and a couple of Porshe Turbo's recently, now they are fast.
Just past its MOT so I'll get it back & take some pics
