Used it myself a few week's back & I have to say that it cut through the brake dust on the wheels really easily & left a very bright shine.
got a spare lot in stock aswell now.
give it chance & someone will come along & say that it will dissolve your wheels & you should use a formula that costs £+++++ for a 10ml tub.
anyway got to wash the car tomorrow so that will be coming out again.
aldi was doing it's own version a while back for £3 a time & that was just as good, ain't seen any for a while though.

avoid that nasty stuff by using brake dust barrier and you won't need anything harsh to get the brake dust off. Tackle the issue at source.

Is the AutoGlym Wheel Sealant any good?Topblag wrote:avoid that nasty stuff by using brake dust barrier and you won't need anything harsh to get the brake dust off. Tackle the issue at source.
I've used "Astonish" wheel cleaner, its £1 from home bargains LOL, and I've used it on the 15" bbs's after they've been refurbed, its a 500ml spray bottle, works well and for the price you cant complain, been about a 6-8 months now and the bottle is finished. Brake Dust just falls off. Works a treat when you soak/pour warm water slightly soapy over the rim, loosens the dirt etc. I usually half boil a kettle when I say "warm water".
I then bought one from EuroCarParts, was about £3.99 some German one, works well too.
I just need to find a good product that seals it once cleaned then these products won't need to be used I guess.

My dad used Astonish bathroom cleaner from Asda, £1 for a bottle, to clean the very mucky alloys on his car, and he reckoned it worked a treat.

Speaking of Astonish now, they have a 500ml concentrate washer fluid also £1, works well I must add, does not ruin the wipers blade like how some other brands to that encourage you to spend more money on blades every couple of months or so.Speedtouch wrote:My dad used Astonish bathroom cleaner from Asda, £1 for a bottle, to clean the very mucky alloys on his car, and he reckoned it worked a treat.
I know the Halfords ones are nasty, leave some white sh*t on the windscreen where the wipers don't go.

Refurbished / new wheels need nothing more than warm water and car shampoo to keep them clean

Back then yeah your right just comes straight off, now as I do many motorway miles it needs that little bit more stronger stuff to remove brake dust.
