VALVE SEALS..........HELP!

When Valve seals are gone and the car has a distinct smell from the exhaust Is this a big JOB.

VALVE SEALS..........

If any 1 has had this done or mechanics on here let me know how much the price to rectify this would be as i want to know an average price before i go to a mechanic.

worn stem seals show as excessive smoke on startup usuall

To replace its a head off/strip dude, so theres a good few hours labour/DIY plus the parts required.

who diagnosed these M8 ? If you can get her to me I'll take a peek as a second opinion if you want.

what else would cause the smell, i assume is oily,that mrbmw78 mentions? what would be the symptoms if it was the piston rings?

Would be same but also slight loss in compression

The smell is definately stronger on starting up...specially in the morning.
as i drive i can smell it slightly and idle i smell it more.

So what am i looking at Ãƒ”šÃ‚£200 average or more than that?
