window switches not working.

Morning folks.

right bit of a strange on this.

just been out in the car (G '89) & the (electric) windows wont wind down

tried it with the car running & when the car's parked & the door's open. Still nothing.

pressed the little stump in the front door slam & it clicks & the interior light goes out but the windows still don't work.

any ideas? Suggestion's??

No they don't light up & yes I do have a 3rd switch/breaker & the wiring to that seems ok.

any ideas?

tried that lol, might take that out & check the wire's.

also any idea which fuse the windows work through/off/from??

Duff switches, I've had no end fail over the years.

right then.

took the door contact out & from what i can see (not a lot) the wiring there look's to be ok.
when i press it in there is an audible click sound so that says to me that that's working as it should be & when i turn the ignition on the switch's light up so they must be getting power.

look's like it could be a dead switch then

so that might go some way to explaing why the passenger side is playing up aswell

@kedge, sounds about right lol just want to try everything else & avoid having to by new one's if i can.

Well I give up.

turns out it a part of the wiring under the centre consol was corroded so it was cut out & replaced with new wire.

happy days till the next prob turns up lol.
