A M52B28 (E36 2.8i engine)with a M50B25 inlet manifold livens them up nicely.

Not really fussed on cost and if the car is going to maintain its value if its ever going to be worth anything

Turbo, manifold, injectors, exhaust, inter cooler, management, oil feed/return, clutch.
Depends on your budget and how much power you want.

I think I remember reading on here once (several months back), to rough guide a budget for either of above the engine swaps was..
M52 £2000
S50 £6000
As for turbo'ing, best to look on this part of the forum http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... forum&f=28
Plus I'm sure there info in the wiki pages..

Unfortunately not. There's a big turbo-shaped hole in the Wiki at the moment.G-Bear wrote:As for turbo'ing...

Guys really appreciate it think I'm going to get a turbo cos all the engines I've looked at don't really sound promising and when spending that kind of money I want it to be spot on

i would and i am going turbo the standard motor from all reports they hold high power before needing work on internals and altho you can turbo the m50 engine. The e36 m3 option doesnt seem too appealing as its hard to tune and a mild turbo set up on your standard motor will give more power , m50 turbo would be the best i would say but then you have the chew of doing the m50 conversion it isnt too hard just getting the prop and wires done (if you cant your self) can be complicated ,for easy (the option i am going for ) buy another m20 engine do the turbo conversion on that then drop that into your car over a weekend until then buy a chip form that speedtouch bloke for 35 quid they get good reports too and you can still use the car, seems to be loads of people willing to help on here too in the forced induction part of the forum and there is loads of info in there too.

The price on any conversion depends on how well you can use a spanner on a car really and having knolege and being able to work around problems . My m50 conversion didnt even touch 1k to do , but its other thibgs that others do . Ie new brakes bushes ectect at the sane time
